Large Cap Growth
Large cap growth funds invest in large companies with market caps of greater than $10 billion that managers believe may be poised for growth. Growth funds are typically focused on generating capital gains rather than income.
Note that “growth” is somewhat subjective and can be determined by a variety of measures, so be sure to understand how your particular fund selects companies for the index.
One should note that the early 70’s and 2000’s were particularly rough on large cap growth funds compared to their value alternative.
