Portfolio Charts does not track your internet usage in any way other than the standard anonymous traffic logs generated by WordPress and Google Analytics. That information is used simply to understand things like how many people use the site, what countries they live in, and which content is most popular. Basically, it’s how I learn about the audience and what they like.
If you contact me via email, sign up for regular blog updates, support me on Ko-fi, or purchase a product through Spring, you choose to provide access to your name and email address. Your information is completely private and I never sell or voluntarily share it with any third parties.
I may use your contact information to communicate with you to answer questions, send automatic blog updates, or occasionally share information about products and promotions. You can choose to unsubscribe from these messages at any time, either by clicking the link contained in the email or contacting me directly. This information is retained indefinitely unless you request it to be deleted.
Portfolio Charts is not responsible in any way for the data collection of these other websites. Please see the privacy policies of each company (linked below) for more information on how they use your personal data.
These other websites fall into a few general categories:
External sites are those that exist completely outside of Portfolio Charts servers. These include companies like Ko-fi (which facilitates user donations) and Spring (which hosts The Portfolio Charts Store). Any links to external websites for educational purposes also fall into this category. I have no control over how these external sites use your data, although I will never link to something that I know to be a privacy concern. If you see something shady, please contact me immediately.
Pages on this site may include embedded content (e.g. spreadsheets, videos, images, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the external website, and they may track your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website. Examples of embedded content on Portfolio Charts are all of the interactive charts (hosted by Microsoft) and YouTube videos found in blog posts.
Your Rights Over Your Data
Your data belongs to you. If you’re concerned about the information collected, you can ask for exactly what is on file and request that any personal data be deleted. This does not include any data Portfolio Charts is obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
If you have additional questions or require more information, do not hesitate to contact me.
