Mid Cap Growth

Portfolio Role

Mid cap growth stocks represent the group of rapidly growing companies soon to make their next step into large cap territory.  Supplementing a large cap portfolio with mid caps can further stretch diversification.

Market Coverage

Mid cap growth covers the middle 15% of the market between the 70% large caps and 15% small caps.  It is further filtered to only contain the expensive half of the market sorted by book-to-market.

Note that “growth” is somewhat subjective and can be determined by a variety of measures, so be sure to understand how your particular fund selects companies for the index.

Many large cap index funds also contain a good number of mid caps.  So be sure to understand the construction of your existing funds before purchasing more.

Stocks on the site are labeled with either a blue or a red color.  Red is for domestic stocks and blue is for international stocks.  Note that the color may change for the exact same asset based on your home country.

No current portfolios contain mid cap growth funds

However, several do contain exposure to these companies via total stock marketlarge cap blend, and small cap blend.
